Three Brothers in London
| At the end of 1988,
Bridlington Harbour Commissioners received a request from the Ministry of Agriculture,
Fisheries and Food for the loan of a sailing coble for exhibition in Hyde Park
between 4th and 12th May the following year. This exhibition was opened by Her
Majesty the Queen. Three Brothers was the coble chosen. She travelled to London by road as there would be many complications in arranging a long sea trip. Three Brothers was displayed with full sail, although a slighter shorter mast was fitted to allow her into the marquee. A selection of the original tools from the Bow Street workshop were also displayed. |
