The Museum's main exhibit is the 1912 traditional sailing coble Three Brothers. She is normally moored in the harbour at the bottom of the cobbled road leading down to the harbour from the town centre. Here she is moored outside the Museum, with both sails fully hoisted. |

One half of the rear wall of the Gallery depicts the harbour walls, the sea and the sky. This latter was painted by Diana Redhead, in remembrance of her grandfather Robert Redhead, who died at Flamborough Head in 1952 while serving on Bridlington Lifeboat. The Gallery displays work of Bridlington artists, all available to buy. |
Entrance fee remains at 30p for everyone | |

Among the artefacts in the History Room is this fine figurehead from one of the vessels that foundered during the Great Gale of 1871. On loan from the Bayle Museum, this piece is a reminder of heroism amid the devastation of that February day. Local writers Free Spirit Writers are available for short drama performances about the Great Gale and Kit Brown, a local lifeboat hero. |

In the History Room are several
models of ships. There are models of a local
trawler, and models of both Boys' Own and Bridlington Queen.
They are
joined by a model of an RAF Air Sea Rescue launch, common in
Bridlington harbour until the late 1960s when helicopters took over their
role. The Museum is attempting to locate material dealing with the four-month stay in Bridlington of T. E. Shaw, more well known as Lawrence of Arabia. He was in Bridlington between November 1934 and February 1935. Also on display is a magnificent model of Three Brothers. In the Gallery, many items from HMS Bridlington are now on display. We have on permanent loan the bell, nameplate, record of service, and several other items. The Society is grateful to the local council officers who made it possible for them to have these interesting pieces on display. A booklet relating to HMS Bridlington is also available in the kiosk. |
