Maintenance Report
The sea was rather turbulent when we arrived so it was decided the Gannet should not leave the Harbour.
The oil and fuel levels were checked and the engine started before releasing the mooring ropes.
The Gannet was taken to the Three Brothers and moored alongside. A spare battery was used with the bilge pumps to empty out the bilge water that had collected in the Three Brothers.
The wiring on the pumps had corroded at the exposed ends so the wires had to be shortened before the pumps would work.
After the water had been pumped out the pumps were removed so that they could be rewired.
The hand pump on the Three Brothers will need some new brackets to secure it to the bulk head as the existing ones are breaking up.
There were several practice attempts at mooring the Gannet alongside the Three Brothers before the falling tide made it necessary to return the Gannet to its berth.
Maintenance crew: - Albert Brownhill, Ian Johnson and Ian Thompson.
